Before You Choose a Program

Finding a program is just the first step. Before enrolling your teen, we strongly recommend:

  1. Reading our complete guide to evaluating teen IOP programs for a checklist of questions to ask every provider
  2. Understanding what a teen IOP involves so you know what to expect from the treatment process
  3. Reviewing the warning signs that indicate IOP-level care to confirm this is the right level of treatment
  4. Verifying insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs before committing
  5. Scheduling intake consultations with at least two programs to compare

The right program can make a meaningful difference in your teen's mental health. Take the time to research, ask questions, and involve your teen in the decision when possible.
